You asked about African publishers of the book at BetumiBlog. I don't know about that, but she may, so it was worth asking the question. But the question did remind me of a book I saw listed in an American Seed company catalog as a xerographic reprint--signaling it's off copyright. THE USEFUL PLANTS OF WEST TROPICAL AFRICA J. M. Dalziel, 1937.
LOL probably useless information, as it's out of stock. I mention it only because I share your interest in broader dissemination of botanical information. Perhaps this volume is something that might interest local publishers.
The books mentioned in your blog are expensive, but perhaps you noticed that individual chapters can be downloaded as PDF for a fairly modest fee.
